Hi everyone! Very Happy

I have not forgotten you and tonight I spent reading posts. How time flies....I am doing well, looking at knee replacements, the right one in about 6 weeks. Our church has a new facility, really nice, and I still lead worship twice a month. Since last August I have lost 30 pounds . It's a slow process, but it is working. Jim and I just had a nice week in Indio, CA at a Worldmark Resort. Since my walking is limited, the pool was a wonderful blessing. Jim is fine, busy as always, guess we both are.

May the Lord bless all of you,

Gigi, I wish I had the opportunity to give you a huge hug again!!!

Congrats on the weight loss. I hope everything goes well with the knee replacement surgery.

So glad you and Jim had the opportunity to have fun. Must have been super hot in Indio, so it was perfect weather to be around the pool. We have started our Summer programs at work and the weather has been perfect for it.

I am sending much love to you my friend,

Zoe

Gigi! So good to see you again. Are you doing Atkins induction for your weight loss? Whatever. Congratulations!

I'm so jealous--losing 30 lbs with a bum knee! Smile

Pat, two bum knees that are now knock-knees, so distorted. I know the operation will not be fun, but I need to have both knees done, not at once though. It took me since last August to loose 30 pounds and I'm still at it.

Gigi, I know the two bad knees problem. As the doc says, I have "end-stage arthritis" in both knees. He "stands ready to replace my knees at any time." I said unless he was offering to do the surgery "gratis" he would be waiting a while before I could save up the co-pays.

Pat, I just heard of a friend who had both knees replaced at the same time. Just reading up on it now. One would not have t0o go through it all twice, even though the recovery might be harder.

I've read about that too, Gigi. I figure since I live in a three-floor walk-up and take public transportation, that's not an option for me. I'm trying to figure out if I could manage a walker going up three flights!

I had a customer years ago that insisted on doing both. His Dr wasn't happy but he turned out fine.

Oh, dear, Pat! Are there railings on those three flights of stairs? It might be worth it to get your walker and practice doing the stairs before you actually have the surgery.

Pat, they'd have to bring you up those stairs, and then you would need a lot of help. I am having one done at a time, see how the first one goes. The doctor prefers that. so be it. Had lots of test this week, MRI, EKD, Stress test with the IV injection, today without the "nuclear, just normal, more blood tests etc. The surgery is on, the day after my birthday. I feel confident that all will go well.
Apparently the stroke, the closed carotid artery and the vascular disease in my legs was the reason for the tests.
Have a good one,
