Prep. Time20 minutes at most
4/5 - Medium/Large Turnips
4oz - Cream Cheese
2 Tablespoons Butter
1 Tablespoon Heavy Cream
Dash of Parsley flakes
Dash of Garlic Powder
Salt & Pepper to taste. (Note: Sometimes I use a 1/2 cup of Mozzarella Cheese to make cheesy mash potatoes, of course it's optional though.)
Step: 1In a medium pot, bring 5/6 cups of water to a boil. In mean time, wash and peel turnips. Slice into 1/2 inch thick slices and add to boiling water. Boil until tender, but be sure not to overboil. Remove from heat & dump turnips into a strainer. Turnips do retain alot of water, so keep them in strainer and continue to mash with a potatoe masher, draining last bits of fluid. After straining turnips, add them back to pot, on medium heat. Place all ingredients into pot. Mix well and cook for five minutes on medium. This is the closet recipe to real mashed potatoes that I've tasted, and it's lower in carbs than cauliflower. It's good with gravy too, but remember to add the carbs.
