he Zone Diet
The Zone diet stresses balance in eating. foods are broken down into categories of carbohydrates, proteins and fats. Eating the correct ratio of each will lead you into "The Zone". According to the author, Dr. Barry Sears, who is a scientist, this is the ideal state where your mind and body work together in the most ideal way possible. First you calculate your lean body mass, and then you find your activity level factor. From this data you will determine the amount of protein your body needs. Once you have determined the protein amount, you can easily figure out the carbohydrate and fat portions that are needed. Once you reach the proper balance, your body will enter "The Zone" where peak health and weight are maintained. There are no strict menus with this plan but the balance of 40% carbohydrate, 30% protein, and 30% fat must be strictly maintained.
